What do we mean by Solar Energy Facts?

Solar energy is a term that we generally use for describing the different types of energy that we gain form the sun. By solar energy facts we mean to say about certain facts that we should know about solar energy. Pretty much most of us think about solar panels when we say solar energy but in fact there is more to solar energy than solar panels. The wind, biomass and hydro power are also forms of solar energy. Solar energy is everywhere. We use to dry our clothes, heating our homes, produce electricity, cooking, cooling, ventilation and many more. These all things fall under solar energy facts.

As stated earlier, by solar energy most of us think about solar panels only but solar energy surrounds us everyday in everyway. Without the sun, no life would exist on earth. Many ancient civilizations worshipped the sun as God.  In recent times solar energy has become important as a renewable source of energy as other sources are ending up real fast. Not only the developed countries but also the developing countries are using solar energy as a renewable power. As the fossil fuels are getting used up the solar energy is becoming more affordable than before. Solar energy is also very cheap because it has no transportation cost as in coal or petroleum. Other solar energy facts include the sun, the earth and some other feature. The sun is a massive burning ball which is 109 times bigger than earth. Its surface temperature is 5700 C. It has been radiating heat and light for 4.5 billion years. About 50% of the radiation coming to earth is reflected back by the atmosphere and the clouds. But still the amount that reaches earth is enough to produce enough electricity. There are few places on earth which gets more solar energy than others. These places are best for production of electricity. World’s largest solar power plant is situated in North America that covers 1000 acres of land and produces about 90% of the worlds commercially produced solar power. There are big solar power plants in Germany and Japan too. These were some solar energy facts.

Solar energy facts also states, till date many countries are still suffering from the lack of electricity, they can use solar power as a renewable and good source of electricity which could be more effective and reliable by applying advanced technology.
