Solar Energy in our Day to Day Lives

There are certain questions, which come in our mind when we say solar energy. What is solar energy? How can we apply in our daily life? Most of us are having wrong perception about solar energy. Actually, we unknowingly are using solar energy more than we could ever know. There are certain solar energy facts that a person should definitely know about solar energy. Solar energy facts not only comprises of the facts of production of electricity but much more than that.

The most common question in solar energy fact is what is solar energy? All life forms of this planet depend on sun. From the production of oxygen to the production of food, everything is depending on the sun. It provides us with heat and light which is the source of other renewable source of energy. The next question that arise is that how can we use it in our daily life. We are pretty much using it for everything. However, we can definitely use it for the generation of electricity and other purposes. Now a question arises how to generate electricity-using sunlight? The radiant energy of the sun varies from place to place depending upon the temperature and geographical location. A solar energy system consists of a solar collector and a solar panel. Solar collector transforms short wavelength of light into heat and it is stored. Electricity is generated when the solar panels converts the wavelengths into electricity. These solar panels consist of solar cells, which stores the electricity for further use. This is a renewable source of energy as it is less expensive and it causes less pollution. There is one more method to generate electricity and it is solar thermal power. Commercial solar power plants use superheated steam to generate electricity. There are lot more uses of solar energy. In countries where the temperature is too cold for plants to survive, green houses are built to keep the plants alive these houses keep the plants from dying as no heat escapes from the house.

Other than this solar energy can be used for cooking, cooling, heating houses, ventilation etc. these all fall under solar energy facts. By the passage of time as we are mostly depending on the non-renewable sources of energy, it is a matter of time when all of the resources are finished. To stop this solar energy should be used instead to generate power for the better future of mankind.
