Unique Facts About Solar Energy

Did you know that the most radiant form of energy among all the energy sources is solar energy? The techniques to use and conserve this energy had been practiced from long back, but still why this source cannot be easily available to human being. It is due to the lack of information about solar energy of how to use and consume it.

Learning About Solar Energy For Storage Purposes

One particular fact about solar energy that we all are aware about is that this energy is only available in the daytime. However, not until recently have we learnt to store this energy.

When talking about solar energy storage, objects like water, earth and rocks known as thermal mass systems can capture this energy, which can be further be used to warm up some glass house or any storage. Another important point about solar energy capturing, is transfer of energy in the form of heat. This can be very well done by molten salts. They are cheap, have high capacity of storing the heat, which can then be consumed by other power motors or systems.

Biological Considerations

A question that often arises when talking about solar energy is the reason why life cannot sustain in depth of seawater or in space. It is all because of the chemical reactions necessary for life that needs sunlight as a catalyst. So, whether in the depth of oceans or in space, absence of life is majorly due to the absence of either the life sustaining gases or the lack of sunlight.

One more interesting fact about solar energy is pigmentation (body spots /colored spots in body) is also due to influence of Solar energy. Animals, which generally live in holes and under the earth generally, do not contain many pigments whereas those living in an open area have sufficient pigments.

No discussion about solar energy is going to be of any consequence without considering the  hot topic among environmentalists i.e. Global warming, which is actually due to melting of glaciers. But then, why are glaciers melting in the first place? It is because increased solar radiation being consumed by the earth. Solar energy is one of the prime reasons to affect the temperature of earth.

The Reason Behind Time Difference Between Two Countries

Climate change is another area that is greatly impacted by solar radiations and because of these radiations being variably distributed all over the world, we can measure and understand more about solar energy, and especially about the temperature gradiant of that particular region. Time difference between two countries arises because of the timing of solar radiations.
